EXPERIENCE LOVE

It is a beautiful Fall day on Vancouver Island. We have had a hot summer and the dry grasses russle warnings of fire potential should there be no rain soon. People are coming out of hiding post COVID, hungry, but tentative, for resuming relationships in person. I am working online still as we have developed new habits and rentals are high. I will still see clients in my office if necessary. As many of you know I am not officially taking new clients. Those who find their way to me through others are welcome. I have some family responsibilities that insist I am more available to those close to me.

Sensitive people have always found me. They are a precious gift and I encourage them to live with respect for themselves and their needs. A busy, uncertain life can upset balance emotionally, physically, spiritually. The cost of being swept up in the confusion and proliferation of this time is generally anxiety and /or depression. The first step is to become conscious of our internal system. Step two is to allow an experience of balance even if brief. The third is to consciously check in five times a day to a place of rest: a sense of being home inside, connected to breath, feel your feet on the ground and STOP. The pause is essential and during that pause be fully present in your body. If it is evasive use one sense forexample hearing and follow one immediate sound for a minute or two. Stay present to it not thinking, just listening.

This experience of being totally present is in my mind the closest we get to LOVE (the experience of being at one) and for some people they may call it creator, God, Buddha, Presence etc. Within it is pure potential, vastness, intuition and magic.

TRY IT for two weeks and share the impact.

This is an amazing and, for many, a difficult time to be alive. In the craziness of it all, we are called to be conscious and kind to one another. When it comes to climate change, we are one human family working together for the survival of our children and grandchildren.
Although a simple woman, I am also a psychotherapist, writer, meditation teacher and activist who speaks up against racism and inequality.
Thank you to all who have allowed me to accompany you in your vulnerability and seeking of truth. We are because of one another or UBUNTU as is practiced by many in my birth country, South Africa.
